Cold galvanizing coating on bumpers?
 

I am in the process of fabbing a rear spare tire carrier/bumper and am thinking about cold galvanizing the steel tubing instead of just painting it. I was wondering if anyone has any knowledge or prior use of cold galvanizing. I'm talking about spray zinc "paint" coating, Rust-Oleum Professional. I've always simply primer and painted my things but they always get scratched or faded and usually end up rusting in some spots. I have some familiarity with hot dip galvanizing and how it works and I think it would be an awesome idea to galvanize my custom bumpers to provide corrosion resistance and added durability over standard spray paints.
I've been attempting to research it but have not found any complete answers to my question.
I know that in hot dip galvanizing, the steel workpiece is dipped in liquid zinc, which coats the steel. I figured that just after welding I could spray the zinc on for a similar effect. And, in the non-welded areas I thought about heating up the tubing with a propane torch and spraying the zinc on, if it's useful.
A few tips that I did find:
Cold galvanizing sprays are used per ASME standards.
It has about 1/6th the adherence of hot dip galvanizing coatings.

I am mainly wondering how durable and scratch resistant a cold galvanizing coating is, especially compared to standard spray paint.
