Custom Exhaust and Headers...

I'm going to be putting new exhaust on my truck after the 5.0 is in abviously, and replacing the restrictive exhaust mans. I was just wondering if anyone has ever had a exhaust shop make up some headers for a vehicle of theirs. Cause the 2 aftermarket headers that work for the explorer and work for the ranger swap also, are just the ford racing headers and Torque monsters, which both can be spendy. So i was thinking of ordering a pair of header flanges for the explorer 5.0 and have a shop bend me some custom headers that can be bigger/longer and custom fit around what space i have. i just think it'd be alot better to spend the money in some custom work.

Also anyone know what the best combo would be for the 5.0 for exhaust size. 3" after header into 3"in 3" out flowy, or just 2.5" from header into 2.5" out or 2.25" out flowy. im prolly gona go with dual dumps angled behind the bumper/after axle (not a big fan of big chrome pipes out the rear..thats not unique anymore) or just a single dump or side exit again.

hopefully i'll get this done and figured out this month, and be able to drive it.. i cant frigen wait!

An X-pipe with 2 dumped (since you dont care about flashy pipes, i dont either) 40 series would make that 5.0L rumble and sound real nice IMO.

IMO it would be much cheaper to just buy the headers.

and i would think somewhere around off the headers into a 3" pipe then to the muffler and back out with 3 or 2.5

word son..word

the thing is none of the headers that work are really worth the money. the TM's are like 700, and the ford racing ones are about 400, and they arent much different for power over the stockers ,..just look better. so idk, i guess maybe i'll have to see about making some, but if i end up getting aftermarket headers i'll get the ford ones and spend some money on other engine mods.

i wanna do cam and internals, intake, headers, exhaust, chip and tune this summer hopefully

and no one has had problems with their stock stuff over on rps that has a 5.0.. its not like i'm planning on pulling 400-500hp.. just about 275-300 is all i want
