Custom Grille Fabrication???

Has anyone ever built a grille from materials out of a Home Depot or home improvement store?
I was thinking about buying some mesh and attempting one but didnt know where to start.
Thanks guys...

I made this one from the grates that you put in lights for a drop ceiling. It costs like $11. The FORD letters I got off of a truck in the junkyard.



The grille looks much better in person than in this pic.

It looks good in the picture too. See now thats Value $11... I dont want to pay the 289 required for a Speed grille. Thanks for the pics!

I have one of the ones that Winks made as well, one of my favorite purchases for the truck. Looks great too! PM him he can give you the eBay link to buy more material.

Yep, I made mine and about 10 others for people on here.

Its a bit*h to cut the material I used to fit for the 01-03's -that's why I only made them to fit the 04-05's. However if you get some guttergard from home depot, it might be easier to work with. The stuff that I used to make my grille inserts was thicker.

If you do go about making your own, try to find an aluminum product so that it won't rust. If you have to go with steel, pick up a can of clearcoat spray paint and coat it so it lasts longer.

Holds up great in accidents too!

That it does, found out the header panel behind the actual grill is cracked too, but the inserts look like new!

Yeah i made mine outa gutter guard..I pulled the grill off and cut the guard to fit the grill. Then i folded the edges so it lookes like a box sorta..Then i epoxied the grill to the gutter guard and BAM its done..I have some pics on my profile....
