First bumper attempt..

Well, after the family went home on turkey day i decided to get out the tube bender and fire up the welder. This is my first try at designing a bumper and i was trying to keep it stock looking, i am not completely satisfied with the turn out, but let me know what ya'll think. i like it.

It would look a lot better if both of the center uprights were parallel(straight up) or or if they were both angled. It looks good though.
|
might be because of the angle, but are the upright bars the same?

yeah just take the top where it goes above the grill and just cut it and lower it. But yeah get a skid plate for it.

Nice bumper I do agree that it needs to be a little below the top of the grill tho.
I was bored so I did some photoshopping to the bumper. I made 3 different versions, they arent the best but it was something for me to do. I hope you dont mind... I like the third one as well but I wouldn't use diamond plate, it just doesn't look to fit. I'd say get some just flat steel and use that, also I'd also like to see what it looks like with the bumper and skid plate black to match the grill and everything BUt you defiantly have something going.

yea i like that third photoshop. you should put another bar on top of the second piece of diamond plate though then mount some lights. i think that would look good.
|
out of all the pictures you've posted only one makes the passenger side one look straight.. i'm having a hard time seein that it isn't tilted inward more than the d-side....
It looks aight, but i'm not to sure how i like the bars coming up then flattenin out for the horizontal piece, doesn't flow well IMHO... good job though |
personally i dont like te tube bumpers that go over the grille, id cut it almost down to the hiegth of the stock bumper and put light tabs on it and mount up some lights. but definatly the lower photoshopped ones look better, and i like the winch idea..
great job on your first bumper! JOSH |
i say ditch the stock bumper.. and run with what you have, make it more into a prerunner styled bumper
thats pretty good for the first attempt |
i like the last photo shopped one.... are you sure both sides are the same angle...
