Axle Holder for Engine Stand

Axle Holder for Engine Stand
Just thought I'd post this up... I picked up a newer 8.8 w/ disc & limited slip to go into my '68 Mustang. I have to do a fair bit of work to it to make it fit like grinding off all the current mounts, painting it, replacing seals, etc.
I'll likely have quite a few hours into it so I figured I may as well make it a little easier on myself and not have to do it on the floor of the garage.
It's not done yet, but here's what I've got so far. The ends of the angled pieces will be cleaned up and welded closed. I found a piece of 2 3/8" tubing that was the same size as what's needed to fit into the engine stand so it is completely removable and is able to swivel just like the engine mount.
I'll post up some better & clearer pics when it's done!

Got the main sections welded tonight, but I still have to finish the ends of the angled tubes and cap them.
I just wanted to make sure everything would work the way I had planned before I finished it completely and it looks like it does! It works great, the engine stand itself flexes more than the holder I made does.

I'm planning on doing a T5 swap as well so I'll probably make another to hold a transmission sometime.

Justin, I have more rust on my hood. Actually coming through, I need to find time to bring it to the dealer to bitch some more.
