Exhaust Issues

Soooooo i have something like a problem. ehehe,

well, i recently bought a gibson, bolt on swept side exhaust. and when i installed it was late and i didnt bolt down the clamps very well, apparently.

so, when mr.special and i went out to a trail called pozo, long story short, yeah, the back half (muffler back) came detached and was just chillin by the rearmost hanger. so i had to take that off cause it was banging all over the place.

then about a week later i notice that my muffy is hanging lower than it should be... and sure enough, the hanger that held the muffler up (the front most, you know, the 2 rubber ones right above where the muffy sits) yeah, i guess it came off on the road somewheres.

SO! i dont have any huge issue with leaving my exhaust dumped. but i do have a problem with the muffler hanging all its weight off my heads. SO, what do i do????

thanks guys.

i guess your gonna hafta get something new to hang it with... and since you went ahead and bought the whole exhaust.. i would try to keep the back end of the exhaust too.

go to a shop, have them put in a hanger-thingy there, and call it done =)

I mean, might as well do it right (you paid for it). I don't think it'll cost too much too.

I agree with Larson; just take it to a shop. Plus while it is there have them WELD the catback to the muffler!

yay!

Also, make sure you dont jus ask for ametal bar to hang the muffler with. The hanger has a rubber pad inbetween two pieces of metal to stop corrosion.
