I love it. What are you going to for a bumper, or did I miss that?

while you are hacking up your bed you should push the rear axle forward like 9" and cut that much out of the front of the bed also, that would be BA. looks sick so far.

I'm going to attempt to, and if it doesn't work I'll build something fancy.

the farthest forward bolt is in the factory hole, then the farthest back i drilled new holes, so there was no bending.. which i need to tweak since the metal support under neath is all funky and didnt flatten out right on the driver side.

yep
its how my buddy did it, if i had more time, and a welder worth a damn i may have done it differently.. but this way was easy

You planning on putting that big tube bumper back on it, narrowing it down, or making a new bumper?
might do a tube bumper, maybe the 2x4 described below combined with tube around the sides.

and i have a few cases of cheap black paint, i just had no time today.

I had it typed then Firefox screwed up..

I'm gonna weld in a piece of 2x4x.250 and weld on some d-shackle mounts, maybe a receiver..

then put fair leads on top of it and mount my other winch on top of where the stock spare tire mount is.

the wheel base is staying where it is..
if it moves it'll be an inch or 2, not 9" haha...

you cut the bed sides, there's no turning back now

i think 034x4 just cut the sides off, then cut the floor at an angle and welded the sides back on, but i could be very wrong.. looking at his truck it looks like thats how it was done.

Ya finish up. I mean so it's not held together by tie down straps and maybe fill the gap in the middle of the bed so it can hold trail gear without falling though the frame and hitting the axle and drive shaft. Are you planning some kind of tube tailgate that a full size spare can mount to?

What were your plans for the floor? Did I miss that?

You gonna try and cut the cross bars out of the stock floor and then cut it to fit inbetween and weld it back up?
