Hey guys i wanna build a winch bumper for my 2000 xlt. I saw a few guys talkibg about jeep bumpers being modded to fit. Just curious how much work and how much modding is needed to make it fit.ie do i have to make the mounts skinner or wider
i am currently in the process of deigning a winch bumper. i am using compressed cardboard to model a bumper which i will trace and cut out onto 1/8 inch sheet metal and weld together.
There is a company in OK, that sells a Jeep Bumper that fits on a Ranger, with different brackets.
As you can see below, it fit sthe '03 Ranger well enough.
I had my brackets reworked to bring the bumper in towards the truck more, aligning the wheel wells with the back edge of the bumper; I had to cut the Grille shell a little to allow for the closer fit.
