Look in here if you plow... I have an idea...

I JUST came up with this idea, no longer than literally 1 minute ago. I responded to that plow thread in Gen Disc... and thought to myself while the ranger would make a nice plow truck, hitting edges of my concrete driveway would suck, and I have a brilliant idea...

I use a lawn tractor to plow in the winter... But like alot of people my feet/skids arnt down. so the blade has contact with the ground...

the feet, for those that dont know, are those hockey puck looking things behind the blade, you can lower them and pick up the blade about 1/2in or whatever so you dont jam on hard edges...

But, MY idea... what if, you put little wheels on the FRONT of the plow, so that when you hit a hard edge, the blade lifts up with the little wheels and safely goes over that edge? Instead of the feet, put wheels and put them on the front... would this work or am I dreaming again?

at least the wheels will be closer to the concrete than the plow blade, it would still do its job, regardless of the snow on the wheels

Sounds like a good idea.

My uncle mounted caster/skateboard type plastic wheels on his plow to keep the blade from riding the ground and on the sides of the blade about 1" from the blade edge (@ 90* angle) to help keep "curbage" to a minimum.

or a ski blade like a snowmobile so you dont have to worry about it filling with snow. a pivot point at the blade so the front of the ski will go up and down as it follows the terrain
