Now I'm curious... what's the 12 hour race?? We have a 24 hour race here in WA... it's a mountain biking track... same thing or no?

It's a dirt bike race. I did the 24 hour in October and had a blast so I had to do the 12. Rained pretty good and being from the west side of the cascades I was right at home in the mud with goggles dangling around my kneck (too muddy to see through after about 2 min of racing)

ok, so i know i have been slacking with up dates and pics. i was really busy this weekend with the bumper, mothers day, repairing a roof, bike maintinence/repairs, etc. anyways here are some pics i took. i didnt take many, but im not done yet. welds need to be ground down, splatter and oil need to be taken off then paint. I also plan on putting a small stinger type bar that will go over the winch and hold two lights hanging upside down. oh, and no pics with the winch on yet cuz im modifying the winch plate a bit and need to cut a bit of metal.

Well I'm down at school now so I can't really work on it after dark and homework is competing for my time. I hope I'll finish it tomorrow but no promises. I did get some metal cut this morning so all there is to do now is a ton of grinding, clean and paint

Get me that file soon... I know that CNC like the back of my hand now... Only takes me about 5 mins to set up and zero the plate to begin cutting!

I LIKE!

Did the WD work out for you?

Yeah just a simple .dxf file... Only x and y-axis. Computer reads the lines in the file as cut lines and then shows you the lines of travel as a hidden line when you upload it. It's really cool....

I set the tip size, amperage, arc length, pierce hold, pierce ramp, arc voltage and travel speed... Computer just tells me where it's gonna cut... Takes time to learn it, but i've been using it everyday now, so I'm really good at it!

Tre, Ill get on that once i finish this one lol. I didnt try the WD40 trick.

I did a bit of grinding/cleaning today until it started getting dark. most welds have been ground down then ill use one of these to blend it in better and clean all the slag off the rest of it before paint. (note: not my nasty *** fingernails in the pic. mine are just as dirty or more even, but at least i clip mine lol)

How does it mount to the truck Kyle?

Flapper wheels FTW! I buy the 3 pack from HF like everytime I go home! Love those things! 60 grit? Although, I should start spending the money on the better ones... Seems like I can use the HF ones for like 15 mins and it's time to change em.

Looks way good!

Thanks Tre. I have two bolts on the truck that are welded in place and two on the back side of the bumper that are welded. Just hold it up and push it on then put on 4 nuts and you are done. its really easy and quick.

I wish there was a HF around here, closer than Salem anyways. some of their stuff is crap and some is just as good as what you would get at home depot.

I know! That's why I stock up when I'm home lol... It's either Salem or Eugene, both are over 35mi away haha....

Now, get me the file for the rear bumper and the metal! You just made a road armor for rangers.... front and rear for less than $100!!!!

Good to know people eh?

Yup. So convenient, just across the street literally! I was talkin with the shop teacher about riding (i was pressing bearings into my rear dirtbike hub) and he didnt mind at all that i was there using his equipment.

His yota was there too and that thing is massive now with the 42s, way bigger than the 39s.

thanks for the compliments everyone.

Tre, yeah that shop has some pretty nice equipment for a high school. way better than the stuff my high school had. they also have a regular machine shot and an auto shop right next to each other so pretty much any tool you need they have.

It looks good! Definitely different but I like it.

You should cut down that ugly notch coming down from the fender. I always hated looking at that thing with the tube bumper on my ranger.

can you just cut them off with a cutoff wheel? like they are not structural or anything? i was thinking the same thing.

Well today i cleaned it up, painted it and the winch mount and bolted it up. I really like how it turned out. Still need to get some tube to put a small stinger on it that will be flat over the winch and hold my two 6" 130W procomp lights upside down.
