skid plate help

skid plate help

hey guys i had a 2000 ranger off road and it had a stock skid plate on it, i now have a 2000 ranger sport with no skid plat i plan on making one my self but where do i bolt it up too? anyone got any pics of mouting them or where to bolt them up too pics would be good thanks alot guys!!

Here is mine it is just bolted to the frame where the cheesy stock radiator guard goes. on the bottom it is bolted onto the crossmember.

here are some disproportional plans of the plate. if i had to do over i probably would use one peice for the plate. i was in a hurry and menard only had 24"x24" peices. 24"x36" would have been perfect. i probably would also weld it for added strength. i was able jump on it and i was even brave enough to jack to the truck on the supports alittle and it did not give at all.

I went to lowes today and priced a 24X36in piece of diamond plate and they wanted 98 bucks for it......I went to the scrap yard and got a 1/8in thick and twice as big piece of aluminum for 36 bucks. I only used half so im goin to sell the rest back to them.

wow good deal at the scrap yard. i paid about $50 for a 24"X24" peices. i had to buy 2 too. i should have check the scrap yard though.
