Got around to combining the Hobart plasma and welder into one cart. All made from scrap I had lying around, except for the casters.
Paint will come this summer once I finalize additions/modifications after some use.... Attachment 122184 Attachment 122185 From this... Attachment 122186 To this... Attachment 122187 Attachment 122188 Anyone want to buy a welding cart? http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...eldercarts.jpg |

53 in Barre, VT. We lost a TON of snow, it's been a bad year. Looks like we may get some this weekend though...hell, we can pick up 3' in a week up here. |
mmm plasma, looks good brah
|
ya looks good... wish i had a plasma cutter!!! it was +2*C here in BC today... no snow and we usually have a couple feet by now... its not gonna be a good summer!
|
Nice, tell me about it Carl, gotta love this north country weather hahah...
|
Looks good. I'm in the process of making a welding/cutting table and a cart for my oxy-propane torch.
|
Looks good for a scrap piece. I like it. With my anal retentive ways, I'd have to weld up all the corners and make it smooth all the way around, but it looks good and it definitely works.

Friend suggested a plug for both, so I wired in a 220 male plug that serves both the welder and plasma....any other ideas throw them out please!
Guts of a Hobart 625.... Attachment 121008 Originally wwnt with 10g for the plasma, but thought better as it came with 8g for the plug (though the manual says 10 for wiring). All mounted.... Attachment 121009 Wired up. 8g is a PITA to work with, but managed to stuff it into a box... Attachment 121010 All hooked up... Attachment 121011 Attachment 121012 Attachment 121013 |

I like the overall project all in one, nice. anyway, b/c good is not "good enough"....updates..... Got a suggestion to secure the tank better, here is the results. Used some eye bolts and shock absorber rubber stops. Also, rewired to a bigger box to make me feel better.... As always, I have a LONG time until painting season, so pass along all ideas.... Did not like how the cords were stored, so improved..... Attachment 119581 Attachment 119582 Attachment 119583 Also upgrade my Oxy cart. Guy before me had larger tanks, so I modded to fit smaller tanks better.... Attachment 119584 Attachment 119585 Attachment 119586 |
