Light Bar Mount?

I am looking all over, and i cannot find one for Rangers, I want a bar that mounts to the bed rail, doesnt block the back window, and can go around a toolbox. It is for lights onlt, not ladders, so it doesnt have to support 500 lbs. I am also throwing the idea around of getting a Whelen Liberty LED lightbar, (and ditch my crappy galls rotating beacon) and mounting that on there so i dont drill holes in my roof.

has anyone seen somthing out there that is what i am looking for? or am i making my own?

if i am making my own, how should i fab this? i am new, ive made two brakets for my TIR 3's in the grille, and over my third brake light, and that is it.

any input is appreciated.

What About using the Back-Rack design and fabricate your own improvements ?
Do you need to have access to the rear window? I've seen thousands of Back-Racks and never heard a complaint about "blocking the window"

You could use the top of the toolbox to mount plates and posts, then fab some upper tubing that slide over the mount posts and lock in with clevis pins while being used, then unpost and stow away....

That could work... I'm looking for something permanent though...

Something like a go rhino sport bar

Not with flames though. Just metal

ive decided to build a simple hoop. I am wondering if it will be strong enough? the hoop is going to be either 1 inch square 12g steel mounted to a 3/16 inch thick steel plate on either side and mounted to the stake pockets, or should i use 1 1/4 inch 12g steel for the hoop? i would like it to be as small as possible as the lightbar will not be permenant anymore. any wisdom?

If you look at the pictures of my truck on my profile you can see how I did it (sorry, I am on my phone so I can't post pictures) I used Yakima control towers and cross bar, and then drilled it out exactly where I wanted my lights, and since the bar is hollow I ran the wiring inside so it looks really clean. My lights are mounted on the front of my cab because the control towers mount in the door, and I only have a two door. If yours is a four door though you could mount it at the back of the cab. I haven't seen anyone else do it like I did but I really like, and the set up cost a little over $100 and it is really light.

One of my firefighters built this for one of our brush rigs. It was super simple and held the 60-70lb light bar very well. These are the best pictures I could find.

It's made out of 2x2x3/16'' tubing and 2x1/4'' flatbar for the window louvers.

@ScottyD hey i know its been a min since this forum was last spoke in but i was wondering how exactly you were mounting the entire assembly to the bed of the truck. i really like your set up because i can still have my tool box there to. @Danger-Ranger FX4 you set up is great but the two bars going back from the assembly would block my tool box, i think its a sick set up though because thats the same year model i have.

Oh geez....
i installed a big lightbar on my truck by using a roofrack bar setup i bought from advanced for like $40. Had to buy some special fasteners from the hardware store and it looks pretty good. if anyone is interested i can go take pics
