Taylor's home gym.

Had this idea in my head for months, so I decided to go for it.
I'm a pipe welder, so getting the pipe wasn't that hard to do.

Thanks to the boilers guys from up north for the pipe lol.

This entire setup consist of 1, 1 1/2, 3, and 4" carbon steel (schedule 80) pipe.
Beefy stuff.

I also used some 1" cold rolled steel for the pullup assembly. Its was free, and I didn't want to have to keep welding the ends of the pipe up.

Concrete is 5000 mix. I also used some super duper grout (free lol) around the bottom of each pipe. So rain will runn off and not sit on or around the pipe.

Please don't mind the yard. Due to the past few months working out of town.......and staying in a friggin hotel room....this area of the yard has seen some serious neglect.

I cleaned up some before I took the pictures.

^ these are for an olympic sized bar. Ill buy a few rubber 45's for the bar.

They are at the perfect height for squats, and unracking for military presses.

Bars are set at the perfect width for dips, and other stuff like that.

The pullup assembly with different grips.

You can't imagine how much I sweated. It was in the high 90's....sunny....and I was wearing protective welding leather while welding this stuff.

Next step? Knock the little bit of rust off and por15...or something like that.

Enjoy.

So now I have to find a good paint or something to put on it.

Could anybody recommend something? I'm thinking about POR15, but that stuff is pricey.

I'd go with a nice oil based paint and brush it on.

Awesome work Taylor! Chassis Saver is good stuff that's comparable to POR15... but probably 1/2 the price or less.

A lot of work, I hope it gets used.

Clean up the steel some and use a good etching primer on it first, then do a good quality automotive paint.
Problem is going to be how long before the paint will wear off and rust will come in.

Good Work.

On another note: "Lftr, ng” = Lifting ?
Ltr = Later
