You can only have one. So choose wisely.

For me, it would be a portable lift... they make those right? lol Something that I could lift the ranger, the whole truck, 5ft off the ground, and also pick up the E350 as well... maybe not as high, but its better than laying on your back on a cold floor.

Hell it wouldnt even have to be portable, id make it work if I got it for free.

An ice pick. That way I can find some one with tools and stab them and steal their tools.

I would say Cell phone... then I could call someone to bring me tools... but I can't imagine a situation that requires only one tool... Channel locks...?

I'm gonna say Duct tape... The Mans tool!

this actaully wasnt the point of this thread lol

if you could have any tool out there, free of charge, free set up, in conjunction with the tools you already.. like if someone came to you today and said 'Illbuy any tool you want, which tool, would you buy?

for me, it would be a lift.

if that is the case i would go with a 2 post lift well unless a fully heated floor shop counts as a tool, then that is what i want. 60x40x14 heated floor shop.

as for the other side of the thread. a crescent wrench for sure.

Lol oh... that makes sense... in that case I want a Shop too. but if not I think i would take a Ford Scanner tool so I can run my own codes for everything on my truck. Second would be a lift but I don't mind getting on my back yet.

Well if thats the case, I'll take a diesel skid steer or diesel utility tractor for our families tree farm. Tool enough for me.

Zabeard, I have a 12ft cieling... in my garage, if you want a lift, go with 16, or even 18 in the 'lift' section... this whay you have clearance for any future vehicles...

Also, it should be noted, that over head heaters suck... your toasty warm, but your feet freeze. my garage is 45ft deepx 55ft long, with 12 ft ceilings, and a unheated sheed of the bat which tops out at 13ft high, and comes down to 10ft high.... is 15ft wide by 55ft long...

If you run into a pile of gold, go two story... you can have your mechanical stuff on the ground floor, and all your wood working/home improvement goodies on the second. my garage is only 1 story, but is built to go up another 1.5 stories. I am HOPING in the next 10 years, that i can begin construction of building myself an apartment above my garage, and then rent out my house. basically live, for free. My house, in TODAY'S market would pull an easy $1500 a month.

x2, I'd take a brand new utility tractor, or one of those nice 90hp heated, air conditioned bobcat's with a snow blower and bucket attachments...
