Thikning of making a new front bumper

Thinking of making a new front bumper
So the past few days, I've been thinking of making up a new front bumper. So far I have:
I was thinking 2" square tubing, but would 1 1/2" be better?
I plan on putting a front receiver in it, so maybe 2" ?
Also, the thing in the middle, below the receiver "hole" would be a skid plate, should that be 1/4" thick?
It would be bolted or welded to the existing bumper mounts, I haven't decided yet...
(You can see I got bored in my Abnormal Psych class)

Take a good look at the bumper mounts first so you know how you're going to mount it. I wasn't able to use the stock mounts to attach to my bumper.
