Front bumper mock up..

kinda, I got the top piece cut more or less how i want it, then started screwing around with different front/side designs.. And once me and my buddy go in on a bender I'll put some tube in the mix

I have tried/thought about a few more for how i want the sides done, but the front is going to be done close to one of the pics i have.

Right now I'm hung up on those roller fair leads, I need to order a roller less one to put on the outside of the bumper so i can tuck the bumper up close to the winch..

**Who has any tips on how to secure the plywood to the body/frame?**

DO NOT pester me for dimensions, you won't get them.. its just eyeballed/ kinda measured at this point to get it more or less symmetrical from side to side.. I think at some point in a few months (once i can afford to go to his place) Wayne and I will possibly be making a few bumpers to sell.. and we'll go from there.

anywho, on with a few pics.. I really like where its going, nice and tight along the body, it only sticks out 2-3" at the furthest point along with great ground clearance/approach angle should make for a pretty sweet setup.

Side - Idk if i want to go with a conventional wrap around.. or more ¿angular? high clearance.. ish-style?
2 - a little lower on the frame rail.

I have a great image on how i want it to look in my head, but working alone, and only having 2 hands.. kinda makes it tricky to get stuff held up and visualized.. Thanks for looking, gimme some feed back.

just take a pic of the front end of your truck and then use paint to "draw" the bumper. i did it for my bumper when i had it built... didnt look that great, but it got the general idea across. it wont help you build it obviously, but that way at least we could get a preview of what youre gonna do.

it aint pretty, but at least you can get a better idea of the outline... this is what i came up with:

I know, its not a tube bumper, it would have looked even worse if i filled everything in with ms paint

i might be able to make that happen, its not what i was going for but i can try that out..

the front, between the frame rails is gonna be flat, then somehow, with lots of cutting, guessing, cursing, and more cutting i can get the angles I'm gonna need.

mines worse than yours, don't worry..

I'm not sure how to describe how i want the bumper..

but the more I think about it, the more of a pain in the *** it becomes to figure out how to do lol

edit: got it.. kinda in my head? its gonna be tricky.. and now I'm not gonna be able to fall asleep because I'll be thinking about it..

now, who has some ideas for mounting the plywood to the frame so i can measure and fit pieces w/o having to balance the piece and get help from the neighborhood?

i don't have a welder.. not able to weld good enough for this atleast.

I'm tempted to just borrow my friends since tacking metal together, even if it isn't pretty is easier than working with wood.. now i remember why i hate doing stuff with wood lol

exactly, only out of plate and snuggled up closer

the out side lower pieces will probably be at quite a different angle as well.
