What do you use!

So I am going out this afternoon to buy my brand spanking new Millermatic 211. And as I was making room in the shop for it last night i realized that I don't have anyway to actually cut the metal I plan to use for my bumper's other then my grinder. So like the title says what do you guys use for cutting metal. Post pics.

You can get cutting wheels for your grinder. It'll be very tedious work but it does the job in a pinch. Or like the previous poster mentioned, a plasma cutter if you've got the voltage and air supply in your shop. A cutting torch works fine as well but you usually have quite a bit of cleanup to do with a grinder before you can weld anything together, otherwise you may get a lot of porosity in your welds.

I just got home from picking up the new welder. I asked about a plasma cutter and they are asking between 1700 and 2500 for one that will cut 3/8

Yep. That sounds about right. You can get an Oxy Torch for around $300 for the entire setup. You'll just need to actually do a lot of grinder to clean up the edges.

Ya I would like to stay away from the cutting torches and cutting wheels. It is a pain in the *** clean the shop up after them.

Wirelessly posted (Blackberry 8530)

Since I have enough connections, I don't have many fab tools in my own shop for heavy stock, but for small welded parts, I have my brother-in-law cut them on the mill. For large parts, I have them plasma cut or sheared at a shop. They have a shear that will do 1/8" stock. For things I need to modify at the shop, I use a large die grinder with a cutoff wheel.

I used to use a horizontal bandsaw alot at my dads old shop. It works really good except for sheets and such because it only went about 16" wide.

My Plasma will cut 5/8 clean cut.

I run a Miller 212 welder. Sounds like you got a good one.
