trying my hand at metal fab

So tonight I got drunk and got to thinking... I want to try and build my own bumper. Power tools and alcohol is a blast.

I can't think of his full screen name... but it's wolf something. But anyway, I liked his bumper. When it's day light, I'm going to take my bumper off to see if this'll fit. I think I'll have to make the sides a little longer to wrap all the way around.

I think if there was one more bend in the front it would look so much better.

Kinda like Trigger01's bumper. I believe its an ARB brand.

Haha. Yeah, I figured i'd start out with foam first before I did anything too crazy.

Here's triggers

I'm kinda going with the ARB type and I really like wolfman00's bumper

It is too big in the front. Too bulky. If you slimmed it down, it would flow a little better with the body lines

I think you definitely need to make a spot for some fog lights in there. Also bring it around back to where it'll line up with the flares, it'll look much better.

I took the bumper off today... the bull bar fell right square on my nuts. hurt so bad i thought i was going to puke. I'm going to have to make the sides (not by the tires) about 3 inches longer and at a little bit less of an angle from the middle section. I'm trading my bull bar with my dad for a welder. I'll post more pictures later when I get back out to the garage.

My crazy neighbor told me that the only way I was going to get it to work was to make it with cast iron. I don't guess he realizes how heavy that is going to be.
He's about 6 beers away from a 6-pack. He's got some GREAT off the wall war stories. He said he's snipe people at 2miles with a M-14 and no scope. Or piano wire.

Had to make the sides about 4 inches longer. Couldn't take any pictures because it started raining... but I'll try to post pictures later or tomorrow.

If it'll fit, I'm going to trade it to my dad for a welder.

hahaha. his idea of a fast computer is the one he used in the Navy back in the 70s that would read key tape.

ha. no, he loves him some internet ****. but he lives in the sticks of kentucky. and he can only connect at 26.6kpbs so it makes it rough just looking at **** so there's no way he would do r-f.

once a week i'll do a speed on my connection and if it's over 15mbps I'll send a picture from my cell phone to make him jealous.
