3.slow question

ive started to 4 wheel my ranger finally and im so underpowered
ive been looking a doing a tailpipe turbo system but cant find much about the 3.0
dose anybody know about how much boost i could run safely
my motor in brand new has about 9k on it and the trans is getting a shift kit as i write this
i really dont want to run much more than 7-8 psi but i cant find any internal stegnth specs on the 3.0 motor

thanks for the help
any help would be great

o and i did find a company that builds forged parts for the 3.0 but i really dont want to buy that stuff yet i justed dump money into it and the engine is still under warranty for a year

or any ideas that will give me some more power would be great
i have a glasspack on it now thats all i have dont the engine besides replace it

You need to regear. Its not your engine its your gears.

i have 4:10 gears now if i go to 4:88 or 5:13 will it still be good for street uses? i do drive this twice a week to work. also i tow a small trailer some times that has some quads on it if that matters - acc i think it would help with that.

I have read up alot on gears for the 3.0, id go with either a 4:56 or a 4:88. I think 5:13's might be too much for the highway. Also, it will help with towing. You really dont want to boost a stock 3.0. that motor wont take it too well, and if you did, i wouldnt go more than 5 psi. as for the tailpipe turbo, if you mounted the turbo underneath the truck, you wouldnt want to go through any water or mud that might reach it. Really hot turbo + water= something breaking. just my .02

I'd say do the gears.

Remote setups are tricky sometimes, and can have considerable lag. So not much help in the low end.

4.56 will be fine. 5.13's is way to much for 33's.
