ram air

i was at school today and just had a thought, you know how some diesels have the snorkel that drops down below the front bumper and attatches to the air box? can something like this be converted to a ranger? wether it be on the stock intake, or a CAI. just a thought i guess, idk i may be way off on this but i saw a kit from banks for diesels and just thought there has to be SOMETHING out there like this. or would it not even be worth the money/time?

I figured out a sorta ram-air for my buddy's '98 Ranger. Used a dryer bucket thing mounted behind the lisence plate, some aluminum ducting, and an Ace hardware bucket that was mouted just behind the filter plate on his 'cold air' intake. Total cost: about $25. And it works too. I'm still calling it a wannabe ram air though. I'll locate my pics and post 'em...

It actually works and changed the intake sound a little bit.

I have made a ram air for my FX4. I first tried a 4" pipe under the rad. Didn't like it because too much road debris gets into the air box.

So I then used clear acrylic sheeting to duct air from the RH side of the grill. (the opening next to the headlight)
Look close because they are clear. The horizontal piece and the vertical piece are duct taped together.
