Eaton M90?

So I might be able to score an M90 supercharger for dirt cheap, but I'm running into all kinds of contradicting advice. Some of the people I'm talking to are telling me that the M90 won't move enough air volume to make it feasible, or worth the incredible amount of frustration I'm probably in for, in a 4.0L OHV. The thing is, the M90 was the supercharger on the 88-98 SuperCoupe T-birds. Logic tells me that a decent underdrive pulley and proper tuning should work, but whenever I try to decipher the airflow charts my brain turns to mush. I'm a parts guy, not an engineer.

Long story short, a) will it work b) will I want to take the truck outside and burn it before I'm done c) should I just save for a 5.0L

so you have the OHV, your engine blows nuts. It's easy to swap a 5.0. In fact be a man and swap a 351.

i long storied short that, bro.

Yeah, the 302/351 swap would be cool. But a little outside my budget right now. ARP head bolts are a helluva lot cheaper than a motor swap.

How much horsepower do new head bolts get you? Literally 0 hp and 0 torque? I don't see how you compare an engine swap to something nonessential.

It'd be like me saying for offroading "oh i cant afford mud tires right now, Lug nuts are a helluva lot cheaper than mud tires".

But uhh otherwise, the supercharger kits should be 4000$ usually, so a lot more expensive unless you fab them up yourself. And if you could do that you prolly wouldnt be posting online asking.

there is no replacement for displacement

Yeah I completely misread that post AK. I've been spending too much time around 6.0L PowerJokes lately apparently. Disregard everything I've said. :footinmou

i bet to differ. i got a running, driving 351w with wiring harness, transmission, and tcase for 400 bucks. still working on the swap, but i bet any given weekend with all the parts on hands, it could be done fast and for pretty dang cheap.

Try to find a 5.0L engine and trans out of an Explorer. The engine has GT-40 heads and a '93 cobra intake. The later years had GT-40p heads. I'm sure you could find one cheep at an auto recycler, Best to get the complete harness and PCM too.
