explorer express

there are so many options on what i can do with my ranger and i finaly looked at the explorer express site now i am guessing that what you guys mean when u use the lettere EE to talk about a super charger just wondering who has tried this product? how well it works? is it what they say it is? will any thing else in my engien need too be alterd or replaced too use this? and i remmber reading a post saying every one with a superchared 4.0 is on there second motor or is damn close and i just want too know the truth behiend that with this kit?

It may be just me but I dont think Ranger Engines were really built to handle boost. lol That could be why some people say they are on their second engine.

Beard has their kit, and I dont think hes had any problems.

Mine runs great and I beat on it, i mean you have to with a blower, everyone wants to hear the whine and scream of a blower.

111,000 miles on my engine. Installed the blower 5k ago? idk something like that. runs like a champ, i do have some sensors failing but i think its the change in the blower and the miles on the engine. Needs PCV, MAF, and an IAC maybe not the MAF but the other two I am sure.

I have over 64k miles, 15k+ with the EE kit and never had a problem (knock on wood). The worse thing thats happened thus far is blowing a SC manifold lid gasket. But I was on Dougs dyno pushing over 10psi and throwing water/meth and n20 into the mix. And that was actually my fault cause the back two bolts on the lid are the hardest to get to and I dont think I had them torqued down too well. As long as you keep up with proper maintenance you`ll be fine. These motors, stock, can handle a little more than people say they can. Cruse some of the Mustang forums. There`s guys making 400-450+ hp with these engines. One guy ran a 10.99 in the quarter with a turbo set-up and spraying. Yeah, his engine finally let go, but damn...

The 'stang engines have been built a bit stronger then the 4.0's in teh rangers

Its not the top end - its the bottom end, we dont have a transmission to handle these things - all the manual tranny SS's have twisted stuff to all hell down there, not sure how an auto will hold up - but Im sure unless you have done an SAS and pulling some heavier metal down there - its probably not too good to push mild boost (6-9+psi) on them until theres been more work done on it.

^^^so far my tranny (standard) has held up. Even tracking it a hand full or times running mickey thompson slicks and spraying off the line its handling 370rwtq. Got a 1.77 60ft. From what I understand, the stang motor is exact except the udp.

I currently have over 187,000 miles on my ranger. Supercharger went on at 92,000 miles. Granted i'm running just under 6lbs boost, and my automatic has heldup just fine. Most blown engines are from those that get addicted to more power and do not do their homework. Raising boost above 6lbs requires cooling intake air, and acquiring an excellent performance tune. Increasing boost will increase heat & heat is the engine killer, along with detonation. So if you do your homework you should do well!

so if i get the kit get it put on leave it how it is i should not have my engine blow

Correct, you will be fine.
