The first thing that should "fail" is the piston will enlarge because of the heat and start to rub against the bore.
Generally what will happen is that you'll be running along fine and as soon as you back off the throttle you'll either lock the motor up or it'll knock / be rough.
More than likely if svo/ranger/stx throws a cheap kit on there he'll lean it out down low in rpms and break a rod.
btw svo/ranger/stx, I've never seen a piston stuck in the pavement. But I've seen rods! Hwy 50, Red hill, SE Ill.

Go wet kit.1 range colder on the plugs. Spray a 125 or 150 in it. Back the timing down to 10 degrees (if not already) bottle pressure up around 1200 rpms. Put some sticky tire on the truck. Find someone you know with a sn95 mustang with some tire.
Hit the nitrous after 60 ft (just to not destroy the 7.5) hold on. With auto. Wire it up to a push button where you are in control. If you would like more help. i have a HOW TO INSTALL nitrous diagram. Wiring wise. Basic basic way.

I'll let you know if I need the "HOW TO INSTALL nitrous diagram". I'll use my street slick off my charger.
If I do this it wont be done until 08 or 09. Then I'll have fun, before I put the 302 in it.

There was a group of guys who did this a few years back. They took a 2.3 Mustang and kept throwing more and more Nitrous at it to see how much it could take (intentionally trying to blow it up). They started at like a 50 Shot if memory is right. They progressively worked themselves up to a 200 Shot before they ran out of Nitrous. The engine was still kicking after that run. Though it was left on its last leg and was not driveable afterwords. The motor did not "grenade" however.
The old Iron block, Iron head 2.3 Lima's are one of the toughest 4 cylinders built. The stock cranks can take up to 700HP. The blocks are good for that and more. The turbo'd 2.3's have a bottom end that are able to take 5XX HP.
Figure out how much fuel you'll need, and throw a 200 shot at it.
It's all in the tune though. DeathbyPSI (other ranger sites) was running a 75 shot through his 2.3T and clicking off 12.XX second pass's. He did eventually blow a rod out the side of his block and pan. This was after MANY many track and street races though.

i saw in a chevy highperformance mag.. (ya ya i know) they got a junk yard motor and put rings and bearing and through tons of nitrus at it.. i forget the exsact number but it was over a 200 shot..
if your going to go anyhting over a hundred im thinking you may need to upgrade the fuel pump run really cold spark plugs and if you can adjust timing knock the timming down 2deg for every 50hp ( i beleive thats correct) and hell throw some octain booster in there or mix some race gas.. if your going to do it might as well DOIT..
its going to rev soo fast if it doesnt blow up itl be insane!.

Just get some heater hose and tape one end directly in front of the open throttle body. Attach the other end to a nitrous bottle and lay the bottle in the passenger side seat. Open that bicth up whenever you need the extra power. The engine will compensate for the extra fuel needed. Trust me.
I had an old ranger and put a 125 shot in and worked fine never blew and I had a buddy that put a 225 shot in his dodge dakota and lasted 8 months after about 50 tanks of abuse run in it so if you just want it to last a quater mile I would run a 225 shot in it
