turbo ???s
is it ok to put a turbo behind a catalytic converter? how about between cats? is it ok to run a MAF sensor after a turbo? what about running a blow off valve with an automatic trans? what is a good size turbo to run low boost (around 6-7psi) on my 05 4.0 SOHC V6 (with an intercooler)? Where can I get larger injectors for my truck? How about a larger MAF sensor?

turbo behind cat - don't see a problem
between cats - I wouldn't do it
maf sensor after turbo - you'll have to in order to run a BOV or else you'll have a rich stumble
BOV with auto - no problem
turbo - I would find something real small, and run it straight off the wastegate spring for 6-7psi...

thats what I need to know, it doesnt have to be fancy, just a good torqy and responsive turbo. I dont need a ballbearing or a rediculous A/R trim or whatnot, just a turbo that can spool quickly and handle enough airflow to pump into my 4.0. I want a low 14s truck, could settle for mid 14s. I got under it and measured everything just now, a turbo would fit very nicely right where the last cat bolts in and I can run the pipes that will go into the engine from the cat across the truck along the tranny cross-member, there is enough room to either put a crushed pipe OVER the frame or run it up near the drivers side header outlet UNDER the frame, once it is along the outside (drivers side) of the frame I can run a pipe up along the inner fender in a semicircular way (trimming the plastic to fit it up as high as possible and away from the suspension, then wrapping it in heat shield material), then down under the front of the frame to a intercooler fed through the lower valence and under the other side of the frame, then back up through that little bit of daylight next to the fan shroud, into a MAF sensor, then turning quite tightly in a corkscrew fashion into the throttle body. I hope that was easy to follow. I am going to put it up on jacks and test fit some pipe, I will probably use 2 inch diameter stuff, but I dont know what to use, either aluminum or steel piping. I also need to know if I should replace injectors with larger ones or just put in a higher volume fuel pump? I dont want to run more than 7lbs of boost (probably going to start at 5-6 and see how it goes). I will see what kind of t3 STS uses and I will most likely go with that one. Using the cat as a jig, I know I can fit a turbo in there and still have a basically stock exhaust set up, just a turbo in place of the last cat.
