Oh well I think its around 400, everyone seems to have different results but I can bet anyone over 400hp is pushing their luck on a stock bottom end.

Last time i was looking into explorer express, they where talking about modifying the kit for 05+ 4.0l SOHC. I talked to them for a while and they said since i was in alabama. i could meet up with Doug after the install and have him create a custom tune for their new setup for 05+.

I havent heard back from them in a while, i may have deleted the emails ill dig around see what i can find.

sorry for poor grammar

yeah, but I can get a 302 in a ranger for less than 5k...Then again, I cant remember the last time I paid retail on anything having to do with my truck...Probably going to have to pay full price for a wiring harness though...But we will see when I get my engine/trans ready to put in.

not for us Canadians

we have a totally different emission system than in the U.S and california has a totally different one than the rest as far as I know.

you will have to get it tuned at a dyno no matter which kit you buy.

rp casters kit is a lot cheaper since you have the skill set to do your own installation.

1600 for the kit
500 for a rebuilt blower ( i am overpricing it a bit here)
250 for the tuner.

so 2700 plus a day of your time and another 250 or so for the dyno.

3g's would be a fair rough estimate IMO.

you can also go to an m112 later as well as an intercooler with rons kit but with the ee kit you are limited to the m62. So as your budget allows for internal upgrades the blower can follow.

just some thoughts on the subject.

thats a new one to me?? the rp caster kit, is barely a kit, but its better than nothing, the EE is specifically a bolt on ready to go kit, comes with everything you need brand new.

That's true.

I think there is a member on here that makes tons of power with it too. ( Robert Ray ??)

I just realized i forgot to add you would need a maf and injectors if you go above the 6psi the " kit" is rated at. so that would bring it a lot closer.

I think i'm just a fan of Rons kit becasue later on you can go bigger ( m112 and an intercooler) but that's just my persoanl preferance.

either way, the whine of that blower sounds nice.

I'm going to see if i can dig up more info on the emissions thing.

yeah but with a m112, what are you really gaining unless you build the bottom end? the m62 already puts you at power levels which you are pushing the bottom end.

Yep, very true - take a peek at some of the posted pictures of all the twisted tranny shafts that just a small boost can do - if you want a supercharged engine, you really do need to upgrade all the way through. Engine, both top and bottom end if you want stable safe numbers, followed through with the transmission and getting that rebuilt and/or replaced with something that can handle the aggressive numbers.

thats why i think the EE isnt a bad deal, its about hte right amount of power to add to your 4.0 and be safe to drive it for a long time. put as many miles on as you want. i was really happy with that setup. should have left it with that. it was fun.

Think about it, 5g for the kit then I need to ship it which will cost me a ton then I need to pay tax on it and handling fees and other bull****. That's what makes up a good chunk of the final price

It is made in the USA. There is no duty on it because of NAFTA agreement. Taxed will be a few hundred, and shipping shouldnt be more than 1-150. not that much in the overall price.

Just sayin

a $36 AAL from summit ended up costing me $98 once over the boarder. shipping to Canada really sucks, especially if they use UPS cos they charge you crazy merchant fees.

Thats why you do the brokerage and importing yourself.

Your an hour and a bit from the border. Get your items drop shipped and accepted at any UPS store, for like $5 a parcel. Then drag it back yourself, pay taxes, and 99% of the time they never ask where it came from and assume it falls under NAFTA, and you go on your merry way. Drive 1.5 hours each way is worth saving the hundred it would cost to use a courier. Also, many places in the US offer free shipping within the US. Also, order from out of state, and no state taxes to boot!

I'm in Ottawa (76km from border), and everyone I know does this, for tires, lift kits, hot water tanks for their house, anything. I left home at 8am, picked up my lift kit in the US, came back and had it installed for dinner.

most places wont ship to a po box or anything, and how would you get it shipped to a ups store coming from somewhere such as summit? cos that'd be loads easier then shipping to my house, and its only about 45 min to the boarder so not a bad drive at all.
