Finally! :numanuma[
Dad finally stuck his truck. And he called me to pull it out after another truck failed.

The story is that he and mom were invited to a small mardi gras party one night. The parking lot was simply the pasture where the owners home sits. South Texas is a muddy mess this winter because of lots of heavy rainfall. Evidently, dad's right-front tire on his 2500HD Chevy finds a hog-wallow and goes down several inches just from the weight of the vehicle.

He engaged 4WD to try and reverse out, but instantly buried the passenger side.

A late model 2WD Dodge Ram couldn't make the pull and ended up stuck. Luckily, the Dodge's 20" factory tires didn't dig too bad and the party-goes were able to push it out of the way.

10pm at night, my phone rings. It's Dad. He's stuck. I drive the 30 miles eagerly to pull out his Chevy.

I'll tell you what... I almost couldn't get that truck out! Several attempts in 4WD allowed my Wrangler MT/R Kevlars to dig some pretty deep holes. I finally attempted a more aggressive "snatch" style extraction which did free his truck.

My 30' recovery strap did well. Because of the heavy brush, a straight pull wasn't an option. And when I got to the end of that strap, at even less than 10mph, the back end of my F250 slid over 2 feet. It was enough to get that heavy front end up out of the mud; the job was done!

Sorry to let you guys down... no video this time. It was dark and pretty chilly that night for this part of the country. Though I'd share the excitement.

That's what he gets for buying one of those ugly Chevy's LOL

atrocity 02-16-2010 01:25 PM

Downey 02-16-2010 01:54 PM

hahaha FORD FTMFW again lol just dont get stuck now and have him pull you out lol

seed60 02-16-2010 02:10 PM

Street tires and a couple tons of ugly will do that.

Ranger_Guy15 02-16-2010 02:38 PM

The paint isn't fading, although it does look like it in the picture. I think it's either frost beginning to set in that night, or it's the camera playing tricks.

What made the stuck a little more humiliating was that dad had just got a set of "over-sized" Goodyear Silent Armors... LT265/75/16. The LT285s wouldn't fit without cranking on the torsion bars. I really couldn't believe how a 285 can't fit on that truck stock. My truck came from the factory with dang near a 34" tire.

i cant believe no one gave you **** about pulling on the ball.
