I got my AEM intake used for $80 as well. Again, all you will gain is sound from an intake probably. If I bought a new intake though, I would for sure get a volant.

I wouldn't spend the money on a intake, I did twice and am back to stock now. Gryphon is the best mod to do power wise, hands down. Exhaust, I didn't notice any power increase but I just wanted sound anyway. The Gryphon makes it sooooo much nicer to drive though.

Was ur gryphon tuned to compensate the intakes or exhaust?

Where the heck do you guys find such good deals on a CAI? If you ever here of one of those cheap deals come around, let me know. I ordered my edge today. How high can you go on WOT shift points. I'm going to put mine at 5900-6100

Idk, should have gotten a gryphon though. I got a edge at first too, you can get it tuned for 25 bucks than the price of tunes but its easier to just to get a gryphon from a beginning. I paid full priced for my CAI, I got my money back by selling it on craigslist though.

I don't like anything over 5k rpm, generally I lighten up and let it shift around 4k or slightly higher if I'm really on it. My tuner sets WOT shifts at MPH not RPM, so I haven't gone through and set it up.

I just researched and found people were getting high 5, low 6 second 0-60 with canned tunes from EDGE. How is the Gryphon better?

This guy is getting 6.1 and shifting at 6100 rpm. He said 30k miles and no problems.

This is a crew cab FX4 with intake/edge tuner/ exhaust.

The gryphon is the exact same thing as the edge, just with custom tunes and a difference case from PHP. The tunes are custom to the truck and the mods you have on it. You'll get a lot more HP gain from a intake and exhaust if the tune is adjusted for it. The Edge is tuned just for a stock truck. Idk about that 0-60 times, I never got that with my stock truck and the Edge.

I don't know about 0-60 either. I'm sure you can run it up to 6100 RPM but I want the truck to last, and I would be afraid of trans problems shifting under WOT at 6100 RPM.
Like Trent said, the Edge is pre-loaded tunes. The Gryphon can get custom tunes which you need for intake and exhaust changes. Although even guys with stock trucks say that the gryphon tuned trucks generally run even better since you can specify exactly how you want it tuned.
You can buy the tuner without the custom tunes, then add them later.

Bought an edge??? Were you not paying attention...lol You wouldnt think there would be much of a difference between the 2 but trust me theres a HUGE difference from the edge to the tuned gryphon. You can always send him your edge but then you have to pay extra and wait forever.

I actually waited less than Zabeard did. He ordered the Gryphon with custom tunes and I sent in my Edge to get converted and custom tunes. I had mine back at a month exactly and it took him a month and a half to 2 months, he sent his order in about a week after mine.

But I agree, if I had to do it again I would just go straight to the Gryphon. I just got a deal on my Edge so it was cheaper on the long run

if thats the case, when someone on here wants one you should get them to send you money to buy it and you pick it up and ship it to them (at their cost for shipping of course). lol
