Oil cooler rebuilt, and installed, turbo pedestal swapped for a non leaking, non EBPV unit and I gutted the EBPV butterfly on the turbo, turbo reinstalled. Not bad for 6 hours worth of work... the 7.3 is a dream to work on compared to so many other diesels, lol.

Your truck looks great. I wish I needed a diesel. I'd sell my fiddy in a heartbeat for a nice 7.3.

I love your truck. The stance and all.
Any rate sucks you had to be towed by a duramax! What exactly quit on it? From your list I wouldnt think it would quit running?? |

The EBPV actuator-rod-seal on the pedestal started streaming into the valley, and out the back down the block. I didn't want to risk having the oil contaminate the clutch. Also when I started it to unload it from the trailer the oil cooler started leaking, so I threw in the cooler o-ring kit when I ordered the pedestal and other misc. orings. (Thank you dieselorings.com, lol) ------------ Not exactly related, but the Polaris must have gotten jealous of the attention I was giving the truck; another one of my machines down for repairs, haha. This one will require cutting and welding though... :raincloud 2ft high ridge of frozen ground, not a snow drift like I thought. Ouch. |
