Yeah, the ZF6 manual is not what I would describe as "quick-shifting" or "buttery smooth."
But they are stout pieces of machinery. It's not too often you hear about a ZF6 having problems. But on the other hand, it's not too often you hear people having trouble with the Torqshift, either. They are supposed to be just as good as the Allison, which is not God's gift to automatics as far as I'm concerned.
AND, I'm with Matt on this one. This rig will be leveled. I give it 60 days. LoL

I like manual and diesel to some extent. It is fun if you like to pretend that you are driving a tractor, I guess..? lol
But the turbo lag of a diesel that comes with a 'no-so-fast' shift in most heavy duty manual transmissions sucks. I would take the torqueshift in a diesel super duty over the zf any day. I think part of the problem with the ZF is people burning up clutches with aggressive tuning, I could be wrong. Should be near bullet proof behind the 5.4L though!

The Allison? You mean the Allison case with Chevy parts installed inside of it?

Haha, whats wrong? had a little voice in the back of your head giving you **** for having a more powerful rig on the trailer than the tow rig?
I give it a few months before its leveled. Nice truck man.
Hurry up and get better so you can come down and check out the new Katemcy Rocks.

What all do you have left once the engine is in? (besides break it in)
