usually doesnt take too long, and if you arent out on the highway if you downshift to second and run slightly higher rpms for a little bit it will be done sooner. (at least thats how the 09 f450 i sometimes drove last year was)

That's good to know. I've been reading up on them and it appears that if you kick it in tow/haul it will raise the RPM's and regen faster because of the raised EGT's.

Absolutely beautiful truck! I wouldn't do anything more than level it and put 35's on it, especially if you plan on a goose neck trailer.

pretty much, and makes 570hp at the wheels with little modifications. it still has engine noise, just not as loud. its got the sweet diesel tick and the turbo whine.

Hate to say it, it's junk. It's backwards of the Dodge. The truck around the engine is good, the engine is junk.

Sorry Zach, I did. That's why i'm looking at Ram 3500's now. How many times has the front cover come off that truck so far? If you'd like I can post the 5 pages of service history on the 08 F450 with the 6.4 I was looking at that had 35,000 miles on it. I'm sure it'll be fine for you, but if you were using the truck to make money, you'd be screwed. I've already talked to one guy who had to give up his business doing auto transport because his truck was already in the shop. There's a guy on the Cummins forum who has 270,000 miles on an 08 Ram 3500 with the 6.7. Like I said above, the truck around the engine is good.

Well one truck doesn't tell the story I personally have seen a few guys with the 6.4 that have well over 200k and even a couple over 400k, that work in the oil fields here, that make trips from ND, WY, TX and every where in between. That haven't had any major issues...

I've heard more 6.7 stories then 6.4 stories. 6.7's randomly dieing on guys traveling more then 5 hours was quite common. As with anything mechanical, one can be great, one can be horrible.
