I would have put a coolant filter on there when you first bought it, although it probably isn't going to fix your problems at this point. Some people swear by them in diesel trucks though.
I think you're right Zach. I bet that truck has a long service history and several replaced radiators, etc. The coolant ports and everything are probably gunked up. I don't know if there is any way to properly flush the coolant system without major work...?
Even then there may be a bunch of crap that would require replacing the coolers...?

That sucks man.

Zach, PM me the VIN number. I will use the system here at work to look up the truck's dealership visits.

There is a 20k mile 06 f250 lariat fx4 with a 4" lift on one of the lots here and they want 40k for it. Used truck values have skyrocketed in the past year or so. 27k for Zachs truck is not that bad.

They have this procedure for clearing all the junk out but I am not 100% sure that it works. Add two quarts of the cleaner, run the truck for 1 hour without the thermostats installed @ 2000 rpm, once done flush the truck over several times and refill with the correct Gold Coolant. I did it once already before I replaced the oil cooler, i ran it for 45 minutes at 2000 rpm and the oil started to get HOT, so I shut it down. Only problem that time is I only had 1 quart of this cleaner from Ford.

If its on OASIS there isnt much there.

2 replaced radiators and they replaced the thermostats, pretty common on all Job 1 6.4s
nothing else has been worked on that i can remember.

Mick(Spartan) is going to get me a new stock file, I just need to get the strategy numbers I wrote down, (i think i wrote them down), if not we have to go through and test all 50 of the stock calibrations to find the right one.

Hell it cant be a crew cab. I bet if you took 13k off the sticker of Zachs when it was new it'd still be around 40k.

You got some numbers mixed up there either the 2010 or 6.7L

Where going tomorrow to test drive and price out 2011's King Ranch's for the company I work for. They have to figure out what they "want" for options so they came get them ordered lol. I mean just write the 70k each whats there to look at lol.

well I love this truck but its driving me nuts! The temps are unreal on this thing.

221 on the EOT last night running 65 mph

So this is the new plan...

Flush coolant system with Fords coolant flush
Install Coolant filter system
Install BulletProof Diesel 6.4l oil cooler and remote filter. (not even released yet)

After all of that I really hope it fixes it, I'm not going to let it beat me. haha

I'm afraid it already has with the first slew of issues. I just keep telling myself it will get better.

Or should I just trade it in on a nice gasser? hmm

I'm not sure I could ever drive a gasser again, diesels are so much better.
