If the engine is tuned correctly, it will last longer

Im not saying smoke isnt fun but it is possible to make a ton of power with no smoke.

There is a point where you can make too much smoke and it will harm the engine, but I have not heard many people doing it.

lmfao, sorry but that's great. Once scientists nail the cure for cancer I'm sure discovering exactly how diesels work is next on their agenda . . .

ive heard on the old non turbo diesel's, if you crank up the fuel you can warp the head.

fuel gets hot! thats why common rail guys crack pistons when the injectors stick.

While you may enjoy that, alot of people don't. This is the reason for all the emissions crap on the engines now among other things. Diesels do not last long if driven improperly. Go ahead and blow all that smoke and run up your egts, melt the heads, crack your pistons, blow headgaskets, etc. Smoke is unburnt fuel anyways.

If they want better emissions then they need to make better alernative fuel vehicles. I guarentee your Ranger helps with emissions sooo much too "jackleg."
I feel like doing a diesel swap, putting strait pipes on it with the biggest injectors I can find and blowin smoke through your town jackleg

It helps with emissions alot. Umm I think the ranger moves about once a week if it is lucky. Let's see, it's an 02 with 70K on it, drives less than 5k a year, is emissions exempt in PA now because it doesn't move much. btw my 6.0 can blow as much smoke as i want it to, but i don't do it because it is a waste and I don't have a reason to show off

Tree hugger? Ha your a funny guy. I'll take that as an insult since you know nothing about me.

My truck is tuned right, by one of the best 6.0l tuners out there, Eric @ Innovative Diesel, at his shop in maryland when i was having issues on my way home from the beach.

JP, you just keep digging your hole deeper and deeper.

You're getting to the point where you won't be able to pull yourself out. Give it a rest.
