that would be tight if you bought some 06-07 badges and painted them black and painted the lettering silver

Go for it!

Also, get some pics if you do go through with it. I have a black truck and would like to see how it turns out.

How did you pop the off with out breaking it or scratching the paint?

Looks good, I might do it to mine. Flat or gloss black?

mine are gloss. i like the way it looks bc it flows with the paint of the truck. i used a little flat head screw driver and slowly pryed it off w/o scratching the paint. i used a little WD-40 too to help.

Was inspired to try this today myself, since work is a little slow, working at a body shop I had everything I would need.

Pulled the emblems off with a stiff putty knife. Removed the sticky tape with my finger for the most part then used Wax and Grease remover to get the rest, cleaned that off with soap and water. Scoffed the emblems with a Scotchbrite to promote adhesion. Sprayed them with 2 coats of Plas-Stick adhesion promoter. Then sprayed them with 3 coats of Flat Black. Removed the tape off of the truck with a rubber wheel and cleaned surface with Wax and Grease remover. Reapplied the double sticky tape to the emblems and cut to fit. (Reapply the tape befor painting so as to not leave fingerpaints in fresh paint) Was going to spray with Clearcoat to protect the blackpaint but I didn't honestly want them shiny but you could do that.

I like what you guys have done with the black on black. Now with your insperation (sp) I have a wedgewood blue truck and I am a huge Denver bronco fan so I am thinking blue Emblems with orange letters on an 06 emblem or maybe white with orange letters. What do you guys think?
