System Overhaul + Sound Deadner (lots of pics)

Here's my shot at a system.

Here's the inner door skin being applied.

Now the outter layer is being applied.

Gotta gut the interior and prep the surface, I can't believe how much dirt and stuff was under the carpet. And I ususlly keep my interior very clean!

I also decided to do the transmission breather extension mod while I had easy access to the nipple. Why do it by feel when you can do it by sight!

The interior mostly done now.

Interior back in. The head unit, Pioneer Premier 680mp.

Audiobahn A6004V 4 channel amplifier a Rockford Fosgate Punch P2 12" (single 4ohm voice coil) in a sealed box.

Window stickers add torque, too!

Dynamat gets expensive real fast though

nice, sounddeading is a labor of love in my book. it can be a pita. as far as price wise, check out second skin for a cheaper and just as good or better product.

Dynamat seems overpriced. I love the install though. How hard was it to do the inside of the doors? I've been wanting to do this for a while now.

The install wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. There are plenty of places to get inside the doors. Just be prepared to get tons of little cuts and scrapes on your hands and arms. I should have worn gloves. The install took waaay more time that I planned, however. I think it took me almost 12 hours to do most of what you see in the pictures above.

But I think is is very worth it.

I still would like to do the back wall of the cab- that would just about finish off the second bulk pack of the Dynamat. Overall, the road noise seems to have gone down. I hear some wind noise on the interstate, but then again here in western Kansas the 25mph winds seem totally excessive this time of year.

I know what you mean about expense. If I had to do it again, I would probably go with Second Skin just because it is cheaper and just as good according to many people. Either way, I think this is a very worthwhile mod. The door speakers sound especially good.

Thats alot of money in Dynomat. I think the stuff from wal-mart is a little cheaper, but still pricey. Im getting my system tonight, just need a box. Do you know how bad the rattle is without the mat? Cause I cant stand the noise.

Theres Hushmat but Ive never heard of Second Skin...where would I be able to find this stuff?

I found a wrecked 02-03 Ranger in a local boneyard..I may convert the interior of my truck in a black finished look.

Gray looks to damn dull.
