backspacing

i just bought some 16x8 rims with 5'' backspacing. i also have 33x12.5 tires. do you think the backspacing will create a problem?

dunno what kind of ranger you have but 5" is quite alot of BS. I beleive stock BS is 4.5". I guess your wheel will stick in more and create more chances of rubbing.

holy ****, the stock wheels have 4.5" of backspacing! 5" is way too much, especially with 12.50 tires they are going to rub like a sumbihc!

8" wheels with 5" backspacing have exactly the same +12mm offset as factory 7" wheels with 4.5" BS. 33x12.5's with those wheels are going to rub like hell on the inside, even with a lift.

Incorrect guess!

5" backspacing will bring the wheel .5" closer to the truck. 4.0" backspacing will put the wheel out from the truck by .5"...

With the 16X8, you should have gotten a 4" backspacing, to compensate for the extra half inch of wheel width on the inside...

buy spacers like I said above.. but yeah youd have to get like a 1" wheel spacer.. dunno if they make em that big. Either that or sell them and get some new ones.

OOPS!!! All I saw was stick and I ASSUMED it was stick out!

Who says stick in anyway? lol

I know stock backspacing is 4.5", re-read my post then...

He got 5" backspacing, and you are suggesting a 1" spacer....

I said he should have gotten 4" backspacing, which is the same thing, only safer than using a 1" spacer...

I'll just say, I don't think its recommended you use spacers if you are gonna offroad, just try selling the rims and get one's with 4" BS or 3.5" BS.

I don't know, I still wouldn't trust spacers with that size tire and rim.

well i really dont have a choice at this point cause i would just loose a lot of money if i sold them. Im just gonna try. I have a buddy who did spacers and got really big washers and he said he didnt have a problem.

Where did you get them? Check their return policy, maybe you can refund or exchange them.
