What do ya'll think of this waag bar?

I tried my best to use paint.net to put it up there but I just cant figure out how to get the space in the middle to be transparent(help would be great!)..but anyways to the point.
What do ya'll think of this grille guard? I cant decide if I like this better or a full one, and also how does this mount? Would I be able to keep my skid plate? I sure wish waag still made that smaller one...

It really would be hard to screw it up honestly
just scribe a semi circle about 2 inches above the bumper line cut straaight across the 1/8th inch above top of semi circle with cut off wheel and get a angle grinder pack of disks and few bottles of water grind down smooth cut rubber pad and epoxy it over your cuts and let it run down the back bam youve got the old one it would take all of 2hours .

The Sportster mounts via brackets mounted to the frame...then the other brackets bolt to the frame brackets and the bar....tighten and your done.

I believe your "chop" was done on paint.......so go back, and paste the bar ontop of your truck......under all those button options on the left, there's two buttons.....both have a blue cyl, red ball, green cube........click on the bottom on the two buttons. It will make the pasted image lay ontop of your truck, with out white spots.....transparent if you will.

That one will be bigger than your guys' chop. The diagnal parts are going to follow the sides of the grille, fyi.

The smaller out of production WAAG is overrated IMO. I had one and its good for mounting lights, but it's a little ugly from any view but the front.

I know this is a necro post before everyone flames me but I didn't want to start a whole new topic on this. I know there's a bunch of people, including myself that wants one of the old waag sportster bars. I emailed waag about it and first time was told the jig gets tossed when the product is discontinued. Well I got an email back from Irma stating that if we can get a group buy of 10 or more they will consider running some new ones. Price is $250 shipping included.

Damn that's pricey considering you can get a full grill guard for 300 off flea bay.

Not bad.. not bad at all...

The only sucky part is, I'm running a bodylift, and not sure if it will mount up to the front bumper mounts all too well...

Just make brackets. I kinda like the new one. I would really like to see one mounted on a Ranger before I make my decision as to which one I like better.

Protection? Grill gaurds don't protect. If anything the do more damage if you hit some one. If you get in a little bumper bender with some one then you are garenteed to screw up both fenders and break ur grill. Normally the damage would only amount to a scratched possibly bent bumper.

Personally i like bull bars, but i build a custom skid plate. The skid is way tougher and i don't think it would look right with both. Those bars don't protect the cooling system very well. Those bull bar aren't gonna hold up in a fender bender either though.
