Update: Help Me ....... (bye bye clutch number 2!)

Update :

OK guys, can any of you give me names of different clutch companies out there? I need help badly! ... my clutch is going to be warrentied but its going to be atleast 3 weeks before they can get one for me, they are on backorder now!

Help Help Help! haha

-Jared

Hahahahahahahaha .... ah HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

son of a lol.

Well 2 weeks ago my clutch went bye bye from racing a stock level ii, was a blast, and still won!

Well I replaced it everythign was awesome, and then this morning when I was coming home from CU boulder where my gf goes to school, another ranger pulled next to me on the highway, and reved his truck at mine. Well I reved mine to get that whine from the supercharger, guy gives me a thumbs up and he goes on his way. Well now my clutch pedal is all soft and I have a nasty vibration when i get to higher rpms, truck just shakes a little at idle. I called up the place where I got the clutch from and they are going to warrenty it for me. Most likly the spring in the pressure plate, one of the fingers is bent causing it, is what the guys at work tell me.

I just think its funny. I wish there were companies out there that would make a highperformance clutch for the 4.0 SOHC.

Centerforce will not touch the 4.0 SOHC ranger because the pressureplate is a self adjusting or some bull **** like that. They told me that a long time ago before i even had any lift. they said they would look into it in a few years, well its been a few years since i talked to them, and i called them 2 weeks ago and they feed me the same bull ****. they need to wake up!

anyways i thought id share my clutch fun time haha .

my truck is always keepin me busy, weather a repair or a mod ... she loves me lol

-Jared

Luk isnt that much better from stock in a sense. Luk actually makes the pressure plates for ford.

And the clutch that i installed 2 weeks ago was a Luk.

i was very happy with it though, was stiffer than stock which i loved. just i want a HEAVY DUTY one, since i have 35s and a supercharger ... clutch is going to be my weakest link!

Pressure plate failed on the first one as well. warped it, and 3 of the spring fingers where bent.

i think that is whats wrong with this one as well, bent spring ....

I could be wrong, but I swear I've seen someone with a recent ranger 2001+ that claimed they had the CenterForce DF in their truck. Can't remember if it was forums or cardomain. I know my roommate put a DF in his 97 250, but that doesn't help us! Damn it and I wanted to put the Centerforce in too.

Site shows they make one for 98-00 4.0 244 Engine. I take it no work for us?!!

Link: CenterForce

Last I heard, word on the street was his trans wasn't stock. If he swapped the trans, I'd bet he swapped the clutch to something completely different too..

it doesnt say anything about which motor though .... hum ... if it would work for the 4.0 sohc then i might ... but my clutch is warrentied since i bout it 2 weeks ago. if this one guys out i will get my moneyback i will look into a higher performance ... i was just going off what i was told
