seat rack in ex.cab

gettin ready for our second baby, its time to figure out how to get two car seats in the ranger. i dont want to run with both seats in the front and shift at the same time. thats fine for a short trip, but not a permanent solution.

so i built a rack in the ex.cab to hold the forward facing seat(my 18mo daughters seat), then ill jus run the new babys rear facer in the front.

i may build another for the other side, but i cant fit a rear facer in the back. by the time the new baby can be forward facing, my daughter might be big enough to ride in the jump seat so we will see....

Looks nice man... We're getting close to that stage, and I was wondering if a rear facer would fit... I guess I know my answer.. At least a front facer will work. Nice fab work.

you could probly fit a rear facer on the pass.side, but youd hafta push the front seat pretty far forward.
im goin to get some velcro to put(the soft side) on the flat surfaces for some traction. ill get a couple more pics when i get back and the seat is installed. put the amount of space available into perspective for ya.

looks really good... hows the seat held down,,,

but i would never let your daughter sit in the other jump seat, you get side swiped and you have 0 protection, i rarely ever let anyon back there bacuse of that..

seat is held in with the straps that come with the seat, plus another rachet strap cause i dont think the seat people use enough

if we all go someplace together, somebody's gotta ride in the jump seat, either the daughter or the wife. what are ya gonna do

lol, that is cute.

How is she for car rides in that jump seat? at 18 months it might not be so bad, but I was an antsy kid and being stuck staring at the back of a seat and not able to see out any windows would be killer for me. I didn't sleep much on car rides
