ranger towing
how much can these rangers tow? weight wise? i was looking at the nissans and toyotas to compare, looks like they got some more ponies under the hood then the rangers, i have a 69mach1 that i need to tow once in a while but i dont think the ranger can handle it, dont want a full size truck either, maybe i can install my 351 stroked windsor in that ranger. thanks.

changing your fluids wont help. mine has been changed every 25k.
pulling the skid loader didnt really hurt my tranny, had more to do with this load of 6800lbs of stone +1200lb trailer and 33s. I wont ever do that again
HP isnt really the issue its other drivetrain. i know my 4.0 has never struggled.

Pulling the load with the ranger isn't the hard part. It's getting it stopped. Our boat and trailer weigh about 2800-3000 pounds and I have no problem getting it around but it has trailer brakes. I remember when I was a kid and we would go on vacation to the U.P. of Michigan, dad would pull a big V-hull 18' aluminum Starcraft boat (probably more than our boat weighs) along with us two kids and mom along with all the luggage and stuff 14 hours straight and that was with a 2.9L/5-speed '88 supercab. Man those little back seats were uncomfortable even for a kid. I can still remember mom complaining because it was hot and dad wouldn't turn on the A/C because the truck couldn't keep 65mph with it on....lol!
