newest check engine light

went to auto zone and had the code pulled... was code p 0174
did some searching and found it could either be the maf sensor or pcv hose/valve. what would be the easiest way to go about doing this repair.

well, first things first, check the hose going to the pcv, they like to split/crack, have you ever replaced the pcv on your truck?
if not im sure its time to replace it.

if thats not the case, clean the MAF and go from there, a little shot of brake cleaner works wonders.
also check the plug for it and make sure its plugged in all the way, unplug it and plug it back in.

the hose for the PVC was perfectly fine, NO CRACKS, HOLES, ANYTHING. I did noctice one thing. The top of the hose when it slides on to the stem, its not tight. It is pretty loose. A good bit of wind could blow it off........?

call ford and get a price on a new pcv and pcv hose, shouldn't be to much.
sounds like it isn't sealing.

they should sell it by the foot when you get there. Just take your old one in so they can size it.
