revision of a project

i needed tow hooks on the front of my truck. i found a pair for 6 bux brand new. i use all grade 8 hardware. its 4" wide 1/4" thick channel iron with 1/4" plates at each end for bolting to the frame horns. these bolts also hold the bumper. and later on i wanted to add a 2" reciver to it.

yes those 4 bolds are strong enough. they have had a good shock test by me tuggin on a tree and being pulled by someone else.

lissen close and watch all the slack get taken up in the tow strap at the very end of the movie.

i kinda like the hitch. I'd never do it on my truck though because it'd hardcore hamper my offroading.

Old Black Cats way of testing......

tires are 8" off the ground, yes both of them. and nothing creaked groaned or moved as i lifted it a few times. even got a good tug on it with the tow strap around a well rooted olive tree.
