Converting my 2004 Edge to work with 93-2000 tail lights
Does anyone know how to convert my 2004 edge to work with 1993-2000 style tail lights. I have read that the the older style lights will fit, but they bulbs are different because there is a separate turn signal bulb for the old ones. Is there an easy way to wire this in? Has anyone done this? The reason I ask is because I don't like any of the new tail lights they sell on ebay for 2001-2007 I want to go with an older pair.
These are 93-2000 ones I want in my 2004
Please dont post saying things like "gee those are ugly" - I am just looking for technical help, not subjective opinions. Thanks ahead of time...

You would probably need to bring 2 new wires back to power the turn signal only bulbs in the tails. These could be tapped from the front turnsignals or the steering column harness. Everything else could be reused from the existing wiring for the stock tails.
L turn only = LG/WH (new)
R turn only = WH/LB (new)
L turn/brake = LG/OR
R turn/brake = OR/LB
L&R Running = BN
L&R Reverse = BK/PK
Ground = BK

OK, Maybe I have a better, and easier idea....
I will have 3 spots for bulbs.
One will be the white reverse light, this is easy.
One will be for a dual filament bulb, this is exactly what my stock 2004 truck has. I will connect this as usual.
The extra spot (with a red lense) will be for a single filament bulb. This is the one that is originally designed for the turn signal on a 1993-2000 truck. For this single filament bulb I can connect the positive to the positive on the turn signal bulb below, and the ground to the same ground.
If I am correct, the lights will function the same, except my bottom light will be a dual filament and it will be the only tail light, where as they will both blink for turnsignals and both work for brake lights?
Does this sound right?
