Went from a Thule rack to this

The other day I ripped my Thule rack completely off my truck. Since there was roof damage (looked like someone took a can opener to it) I wasn't able to replace it w/ another w/out spending $$$ to repair the sheet metal.

So, today I went a junkin and came home w/ a rack from an S10 Blazer. The length/width of the feet bases cover 99% of the damage. ...had I been able to find a rack on a Ford that would have hidden the damage I'd have bought it

I'll be using Thule 58" load bars and adapters which is why you don't see any in the pics.

jtslmn720, I can't say as I'd drill my roof just for the heck of it. As an avid kayaker, I have a practical need for the versatility of a roof rack.

ScottG, sorry man, carnage pics = bad juju.

Thanks guys.

I checked the "claimed" 200lb load rating this morning w/ my 203lb self standing on one rail at a time and then both at the same time. I am more than pleased, this rack is very sturdy! The rails are made of thick aluminum and the feet are some sort of heavy duty plastic.

Now I just have to remember to steer clear from air potato vines!

Man I am still impressed by how well that fits on there. Do you have a basket or roof rack or something you can put on top on there so I can see how it looks?

Thanks, I took my time getting it to fit.

I'd gladly take pic of my basket but it's closer to you right now than to me. lol I have a cabin near Jefferson.

Yeah, but wouldn't that technically be, over the hills and through the woods? lol

Roof racks actually look good on a Ranger. It looks like it's stock. Very well done man.
