Found a good deal on new lower ball joints

If you have a newer Ranger and need lower ball joints, this looks pretty good.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...e=STRK:MEWA:IT

Edit: Relisted here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...sPageName=WDVW

I bought 2 sets since I figure with the 35's and t-bar crank I'll be wearing them out.

The only thing is they come without the snap ring and castle nut, but you can reuse your old ones. No cotter pin either, but that's pennies.

The price, shipped, is about $25.00 for a pair -- not bad. I asked for and got a concession on shipping buying two sets at once so my price is even lower.

Just thought I pass that along. I need ball joints because I tore the boots over mine putting on the spindles.

No, ebay is DOWN. The link is fine. Most things are not available over there right now. Go log on and see what you can do -- not much till they fix it. There's a message on the General Announcements Board on eBay -- IF you can get to it!

Here's the text of the announcement:

******
Date: 05/09/05 Time: 0812 PM PDT

We are aware the site is temporarily unavailable. We're aware of this issue and are working to fix it as quickly as possible.

Thank you for your patience,
eBay

Yes. The part number for both front ends is the same, I do believe. You can verify that easily by going to a site that sels them online, and looking up joints for a Ranger and a Mazda.

The guy shipped me two sets for $10 total shipping, so I got two sets for $40.

Ever consider that your momma told you that if you don't have anything nice to say, you shouldn't say anything at all?

Thumbtack? I don't understand, lol.

They are about the size of your fist, more or less.

Above them are the plastic covers that protect the boot and threads in shipping -- maybe that's what you're seeing.

He'll probably relist them, but why don't you put it in your watch list so you have a link, and email him when you are ready to buy. His name is Paul and he seems quite amenable to doing business.

And yes, I knew Leo was kidding -- well, I mean I kinda figured it out after I read it a second time through my drying tears...

I just talked to Paul, and he has an incredibly large supply of them. Unless he sells them in bulk to unload them, he'll have some for a bit. I suggest anyone who even THINKS they're going to need ball joints jump on this -- this price doesn't come around much.

thanks for the heads up John
to tell the truth an extra ball joint should really be carried off road
it is a likely part to break (especially climbing rocks or obstructions) and trail repairable if you have a spare and tools

25 bucks a pair? Where do you get them?

And my stock ones have held up well. They are not "garbage" and I'm not sure why you would say that -- they are also used on heavier trucks than ours and stand up well. Mine need replacement because I tore the boots -- other than that I wouldn't need to replace them.

I have not seen the HD Moog's ANYWHERE for $25 a pair -- so tell me where you shop, thanks.
