Athelstane, WI 8/08
Well me and my friend made it up to Athelstane this past weekend. We had a blast. His hunting club has a cabin up there which we bunked in. Pretty much wheeled, rode the atv, shot rifles, and fished all weekend. The trails consisted of powerlines, fire trails and old logging trails. Alot of the logging trails and fire trails were easy 2wd ones. The power lines were so cool cuz there was ginormous rocks....perfect for crawling, some swamps in the low areas, and steep hills. We probably ran almost 10 miles of trail and we didn't even stratch the surface of all the power line trails and pipelines. The trails all had easy ways around things so the Jeep did just fine going around obsticles. I got roughly 19, pushing 20 mpg's going and coming. My buddy got i think 15 mpg in his Grand Cherokee cuz he was pulling a trailer. There was supposed to be more trucks, namely a BII, ranger, and 2500, but they chickened out/couldn't make it.
Here is some mini flexing
Here is the first of the many rocks....A tongue-in-cheek moment HaHaHa
One of the few mud holes
Some poor taillight didn't make it over that rock
A steep hill with lots of loose dirt on it.
I drove with my tires in the ruts so it would be harder. There was like 6 in of really loose dirt in them. The Jeep had to take a easier way up by putting his tires outside of the ruts.
We found a little sand pit. Also found out that Cooper STT's float really well! I was very impressed.
Poser!
To be continued....

Thanks^^^
This was one rock climb the Jeep couldn't even touch. I wounded my t-bar skids pretty good, as well as the nerfbar/rock sliders.
BTW does any one know of a good scratch remover. :
Oh Drat.... I think that's called "the unintentional bumper mod".
That crick was a tiny bit deeper than i thought. I got out to look and saw the bottom of the crick, there was like 1 foot of water. The crick was about two-three wide. I hit it and sink very far down. Guess what? That K&N works quite well even with a pile of mud on it. Huh! i think it looks even better w/o a license plate. should done that a long time ago.
Well Nate got stuck in this swamp. He high centered in a stump that had a fire ant mound all around it. Very exciting to say the least. I had to drag him through there. He got a customized tranny crossmember out of the deal any ways.(Mashed it pretty good)
Then we hit a huge cliff that we decided not to go off of. So high that yeah.... that's a bald eagle's nest practically under us.
We turned around to back through the swamp w/ fire+stump. We both get seriously stuck but get out after several hours of digging through sluggy swamp i got out then was able to haul the Jeep through the swamp.I sunk up to the rocker panels in mush at one point. Unfortunatlly no pix. In the process of haul jeeps through swamps he lost a few parts.
A few packs of zip ties later and good as new
Spare parts..... nothing but spare parts.
Sweet! i caught my first brook trout. I caught another one that was 11". The only 2 trout caught on the trip hehehe.
K i am done now.

The scratches are comming out quite nicely. I will start a thread in the detailing forum on before and after shots of what Meguairs does. I got 1/2 the truck done tonight so probably tomorrow night it will be done.
The valance only suffered a few broken tabs and thats about it. ford plastic is really flexable. The pastic Jeep valance still has the dent by the license plate. The valance has been ripped off before. I think i forgot to put in the post that the Jeep mushed his muffler tip and put a nice wrinkle in the box. It bent and so much pressure build up that it went kapoof!. We actually thought he blew up a tire it was so intense.
