I need to be "unwelcomed" to this forum...

I was supposed to take delivery of the Edge yesterday... I called in the morning to find out if they finished with the prep work... the owner said that when he started the truck up, he noticed a rattling and was concerned, so he brought it over to his mechanic to have checked out.

I called this morning, and he told me that he didn't feel comfortable selling the truck in it's condition like that.... he didn't want "to make an enemy".

I'm disappointed that I'm not getting it, but at the same time, I'm glad that he was honest and a great guy to deal with... most other dealers would say "Eh, screw it... chances are, nothing will happen within the 90 day warranty."

So I'm back on the hunt for a truck... still want a Ranger Edge, but not sure where I'll end up.

If it was the 4.0, it might have just been timing chain rattle, verry common when cold. I'd check it out and see if you might still want it.

you have to take the good with the bad at any popular site. Craigslist is amazing when used right by both parties.

That sucks, just keep on looking, you'll find the right one.
