didnt take too long once i dropped the diff ( gave me ****).

first impression-drove out and i was shocked at the crappy steering because of the springs being stiff and keeping the dff locked. was worried i installed it wrong and made a few calls. decided to wait it out and test after the break in period. supposed to take t out wheeling on its first day in but ddnt work out.


few days later- driveability is surprisingly good at speeds over 15 MPH. below 15 it sucks because it enjoys locking up on me. parking lots are no fun and always a concern. I made the decision to take it wheelin once and go from there.

Today- I go tubing in the poudre canyon and the locker is very unoticable around all the tight corners and bends. after the tubng i decide to hit it up to a trail abuot 20 minutes away. the trail was kelly flats and its rated a 7 on a 10 scale. I make the voyage alone because everyone who went with me were bein weenies. Skeptically I drive up to the trail head. put it in 4lo and frst gear and get to crawling. HOLY S***!!! done the trail before and spun the tires many a times. had to use mmentum as my advantage with out the locking diff which we all know can be a bad idea. Today I crawled everywhere. never had to romp the gas, never had to jerk it, nothin.

bottom line- night and day when wheeling, drves great above 15 MPH and below 15 you have to knw its quirks and even then itll want to snag on you. Im decided to leave it in for a longer amount of time than I expected to at first and over a great amount of time ill re-evaluate hw important it is compared to the parking lt struggle.

Yeah I will be curious to see how your front tires wear. That's badass though how well it helps wheeling! I'd be afraid to do it with mine though because of all the city driving i do. it's hard enough to park my truck with all these monster soccer mom SUVs around!

 

something i will say is that when it locks at low speeds it seems that it drags on the MT/R shoulder lugs. but it may be from curbs that i like to hug up on...

I have no problems with my below 15 mph, I wonder if it is the little tighter fit that the loc rite is over the power-trax??? As for the freeway problem, I only notice it a small small amount and that is when I just what to inch over to the next lane. If I want to move over to the next lane no a problem.

 

Sounds tight wish I had 4wd so I could get a locker for the front!

 

its really starting to loosen up a lot. still gives me a fight sometimes, but i can outdrive it. I think its just the way the locker releases mine being a ratcheting and yours a ramping locker. n the highway, i feel nothing and unless its under 10-15 MPH I feel nothing.

 

I'm afraid to have to steer my full-spooled 44 with 38's on the rocks...Lol.

I didn't, but when i got the axles and decided on 38s', here come the CTM's, chromo shafts, you get the idea.

Build it right the first time or don't build it at all.
