Ford Edge?

Ford Edge?
My mother has been wanting a new-to-her car, an SUV preferably although open to options.
A vehicle that's been catching her eye is the Ford Edge SUV, not to be confused with and Edge trim level Ranger.
So, I ask, what do you guys think of the Edge? Any major problems to be heard of, just so-so or what?

My mom used to have an 07 edge. It was a nice car- tons of interior room. Gas mileage wasn't all that great, but it is a "crossover". It also had a hell of a blind spot, but I don't know if the newer generations have the same issue. Over all I think she was happy with it. Definitely didn't scare her away from Ford or anything (she traded it in on a focus).

A friend of mine has a 2011 Edge and loves it. Lots of toys and features, very comfortable. The only niggling little point that I have is that if you sit in the center of the back seat, you're sitting on seat belts with both sides of your butt, and I'm not a huge guy with a huge butt!

When my parents were looking for a cross over/SUV they test drove one and I remember them saying they liked the room inside but they hated how it handled and my dad said it was kind of like a tank, just not much visibility. They ended up going with an Escape. We still have it and I'll tell you what...that things a brute. We've gone off roading in it during fishing trips, carries all our stuff, pretty good visibility, good power, and good suspension.

Then grandkids came along, and I tried to convince her to trade it straight up for my Fusion, but she wanted an SUV lol.
