Ecoboost going in the 2011 F-150

Can't wait to see some numbers from it. I sure would love to have that gas mileage

The final announcement (and one of the worst kept secrets in the industry) will be the confirmation that the 2011 F150 will be available with a 3.5-liter V6 Ecoboost.

Im curious to see the tow ratings for the 150. wonder how its going to hold up.
I wonder if ford putting the 2.0 ecoboost in the Explorer is any foreshadowing of the new Ranger platform...

Yep it is which is sad. Days of the explorer having any relations to a truck are soon to be over with.

You realize that the Explorer with the 2.0 is FWD right?

Well we do know that the 2019 to current Rangers came with the EcoBoost 2.3 in a rear wheel drive configuration. You're not just limited to the Mustang.
Here are several engines with under 50,000 mi for around $3K.
Technically, since they share the same block as the Duratec engines, the four speed automatics and manuals should bolt right up to it. Of course there's harnesses modules and all of that but I'm just saying...
It's an option. And when you're like me and your truck's been paid off for 20 years, when the average payment is right $500 a month, spending 5 grand to bring your truck into the current world doesn't sound bad for just one years worth of payments!
